Patricia Winston, DVM

Dr. Patricia Winston grew up on a grain farm near Decatur, IL. She has been passionate about animals since she was a child, having determined by age 5 that she was going to be a veterinarian. Dr. Winston graduated with her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois College of ACES in 2008, and with her Doctorate degree from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. She is the current President for the Tazewell County Veterinary Medical Association and is an active member of the AVMA and ISVMA. Dr. Winston’s professional areas of interest include soft tissue surgery and dentistry.

After a brief employment near Indianapolis, Dr. Winston and her family returned to the Peoria area to be closer to family and friends. She worked for 5 years at a veterinary clinic in Pekin, IL, after which she spent time traveling around Central Illinois as a Relief Veterinarian.

Dr. Winston and her husband, Brett, have two girls. Their family also includes two dogs, a Golden Retriever/Irish Setter mix named Elsa and a German Shorthaired Pointer named Cali. With Brett’s role at the Caterpillar facility in Morton, and their oldest daughter enrolled at Blessed Sacrament, the Winstons are excited to continue to grow with the Morton community.


Angela Vonderheide, CVT

Angela is a Certified Veterinary Technician at Morton Animal Hospital. She graduated from the Vet Tech program at Parkland College in Champaign, IL in 2006.

Angela has enjoyed working in several small animal veterinary practices since becoming certified, all of which have been valuable experiences.

Her passion for the field is driven by enriching the relationship between a customer and their pet. Helping someone learn how to keep their furry companion at its best is very rewarding.

Angela and her family have two dogs and two cats. There is never a dull day for her at work or at home.


Amanda Fogal, CVT

Amanda is one of the Certified Veterinary Technicians at Morton Animal Hospital. She graduated from the Vet Tech program at Parkland College in Champaign, IL in 2010.

Amanda grew up on a small farm with many animals, which lead her to choose a career as a veterinary technician. She enjoys seeing how helping someone’s pet can change both the pet and owner’s lives. A certified veterinary technician plays many roles in the hospital, but some of her special interests are anesthesia and radiology.

Amanda and her husband have one son. Their family also includes a dilute orange cat named Vinny, two Quarter Horses named Scotty and Cash, and a pony named Dorothy.

Outside of work, Amanda enjoys riding horses and spending time outdoors with her family.


Morgan Lusher

Morgan is one of the receptionists at Morton Animal Hospital. She came to us in April 2022, after a 10 year career of pet grooming. Morgan is very passionate about working with animals, and she devotes much of her personal time to fostering unweaned kittens through a local animal shelter.

Morgan’s fur family includes a Golden Retriever named Swayze, a black German Shepherd named Samantha, and eight rescue cats: Nickelodeon, Pixar, Disney, Waldo, Shyanne, Pharaoh, Georgia, and Wilbur.

In her down time, Morgan enjoys spending time with her pets, camping, boating, and vacationing to Eastern Tennessee.


Kim Moss

Kim joined the Morton Animal Hospital team as a veterinary assistant in March 2023. She has worked in the veterinary field since 1990, taking some time off to raise her boys before returning once they were grown.
Kim grew up on a farm, where her father raised hogs and her grandfather raised cattle. Her family also bred Quarter Horses and had dogs throughout the years. Her passion for animals developed naturally at a young age, and she quickly learned the importance of proper animal care and management. Now, she enjoys helping pet owners improve their pets’ lives.

Kim and her husband have been married for 31 years and have two boys, whom she considers her greatest accomplishments. Their furry family members include two yellow labs, Boudreaux and Kacey, and two Quarter Horses named Token and Tracer. In her free time, Kim loves riding horses and teaching kids how to ride.


Melanie Gritzmacher

Melanie joined Morton Animal Hospital as a veterinary assistant in August 2023. With over a decade of experience in the veterinary field, she considers it a privilege to care for animals, as they hold a special place in her heart.
Melanie shares her home with a deaf pitbull mix named Delilah. She enjoys spending time with her large family and their pets, as well as reading and spending time outdoors.
