Patricia Winston, DVM

Dr. Patricia Winston grew up on a grain farm near Decatur, IL. She has been passionate about animals since she was a child, having determined by age 5 that she was going to be a veterinarian. Dr. Winston graduated with her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois College of ACES in 2008, and with her Doctorate degree from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. She is the current Treasurer for the Tazewell County Veterinary Medical Association and is an active member of the AVMA and ISVMA. Dr. Winston’s professional areas of interest include soft tissue surgery and dentistry.

After a brief employment near Indianapolis, Dr. Winston and her family returned to the Peoria area to be closer to friends and family. She worked for 5 years at a veterinary clinic in Pekin, IL, after which she spent time traveling around Central Illinois as a Relief Veterinarian.

Dr. Winston and her husband, Brett, have two daughters, ages 4 and 6 years old. They also have three dogs in their family — a German Shorthaired Pointer, an Irish Setter/Golden Retriever mix, and a medium-sized mixed breed. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Winston enjoys cooking, painting, reading, and spending time outdoors. She and her husband are avid supporters of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and can be found at many of their events throughout the year.

With Brett’s role at the Caterpillar facility in Morton, and their oldest daughter enrolled at Blessed Sacrament, the Winstons are excited to continue to grow with the Morton community.

Angela has enjoyed working in several small animal veterinary practices since becoming certified, though she has been working in veterinary hospitals since she was a teenager. She is excited about her new role at Morton Animal Hospital.

A well-rounded Vet Tech handles so many different things in a day, but some of Angela’s strengths are client education and venipuncture. Her passion for the field is driven by enriching the relationship between a customer and their pet. Outside of work, Angela’s family keeps her very busy. She is a band-mom and sports-mom. She steals moments to enjoy a sweet coffee, any food that you can dip, a good show, or some sunshine. Angela and her husband have two pets; a small terrier mix named Miss Pickles and a big longhaired tuxedo cat named Sam Adams.
